Kat Deakin

Kat Deakin 2021–22

Physics Teacher

Kat Deakin teaches IGCSE Physics and Coordinated Science and IB SL/HL Physics.

This year marks my tenth year of teaching. I completed the TeachFirst graduate programme after graduating from King's College London with a BSc in Physics. I gained my PGCSE while working at a secondary school in East London for three years. Before joining BISW, I was the Head of Physics at an international school in Kuala Lumpur for five years. I am fortunate to have had many amazing experiences and travel opportunities from teaching internationally. I can hardly wait to make DC my new home. Alongside helping students achieve their potential in my lessons, I feel a huge responsibility to try and improve gender equity and balance in physics.
