I am the daughter of a military father and attended boarding school from the ages of 11-18 so moving to and exploring new places is something I am used to and enjoy. Whilst completing my degree in Anthropology at the University of Sussex, I worked as a Learning Assistant in a local school. It was there that I discovered my love of teaching and realised that I wanted to become a Primary School Teacher. I completed my teacher training at Oxford Brookes University, where I was lucky to work in a number of great schools.
I believe that every child is on their own learning journey and therefore progress looks different for every child and should be celebrated accordingly. As a class teacher, I ensure that all children succeed. I endeavour to build a climate where children can be ambitious and take risks. This is possible through establishing trust and compassion as well as prioritising communication skills. The British International School of Washington promotes both academic and social success which I know is vital to the overall development and well-being of a child.
In my spare time I enjoy nothing more than baking, traveling and reading novels. I have a particular love of the Harry Potter books and am excited to visit The Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Orlando!
I look forward to working alongside you and your child to ensure they have a successful year.
