Kelly Sykes

Kelly Sykes 2021–22

Year 1 Teacher

My name is Kelly Sykes and I am currently teaching Year 1 at BISW. In 2013, I completed a degree in Primary Education at Bishop Grossteste University in Lincolnshire, England and have taught in EYFS and Key Stage One for three years.

As an educator, I believe in the importance of teaching children in a creative, engaging and interactive way which encompasses children’s individual skills and interests. I have a passion for drama and the performing arts and enjoy using songs and drama within my teaching. Outside of school I enjoy reading, exercising and travelling and have been extremely fortunate enough to have explored a range of different countries. I am very excited to explore Washington DC and its culture. I am looking forward to continuing to build strong relationships with staff, parents and children at BISW. In addition to, working together to ensure each child can achieve their best both academically and holistically.
