Head of English

The Head of English oversees the English department, maintaining teaching and learning, progress and the curriculum design. This is in order to ensure that students are challenged, supported and enjoy the study of English.

Before starting my role at BISW, I taught English in Bristol for 9 years. I'm very passionate about the subject and particularly enjoy poetry, Shakespeare and studying English Language. I enjoy the versatility of studying English and learning about the history and culture of the world around me from literature. My undergraduate degree is in English Language. I particularly enjoyed studying how language differs between genders and has changed through time. Outside of school I enjoy watching football and basketball, baking and travelling.
