Learning Support Specialist Leah Caldwell supervises, educates, and supports students to help them meet curriculum goals and reach their full developmental potential. This responsibility includes planning lessons that target specific skills and concepts, managing classroom behaviours to keep all students engaged in lessons, and providing individual support and feedback for her students.

I am passionate about education and the difference it can make in the lives of individuals and the world, so I am greatly looking forward to my first year at the British International School of Washington.

I attended university in Chicago, Illinois, where I studied Early Childhood Education, focusing on Special Education. I am currently studying to get my Masters degree in Curriculum and Instruction with a focus on Special Education and Reading.

After teaching internationally for the last eight years, I am excited to be back in the United States. Washington, DC, is a place I have not explored, so I can hardly wait to discover the area.

I love to travel, bike, and take walks in my free time. One of my favourite quotes is from Lev Vygotsky, who said: "What a child can do with assistance today, she can do by herself tomorrow."
