I originally moved to Houston, Texas in 2002 for two years with my husband’s work - during this time both of our children attended the British School of Houston. Early in 2005, we were transferred to D.C and we immediately enrolled the children at British International School of Washington, impressed not only by the curriculum offered, but also the caring and supportive nature of the school. In 2006, I began working at BISW as a Geography teacher – a role made all the more exciting due to the international community of the school.
I am here in the USA with my husband, Martyn and children, Joe and Amy. We are all avid supporters of the Washington Capitals and as season tickets holders attend every game to ‘Rock the Red’.
The diverse cultural community of BISW makes this a unique place in which to teach Geography, enabling the students to share their own personal experiences and to learn from each other.
