Patricia Etherington

Patricia Etherington 2021

Director of Learning Support (SENCO)

Patricia Etherington oversees the school's SEND policy and line manages the Learning Support team. Ms Etherington is responsible for assessing, planning and monitoring the progress of children with SEND, and she works with Head Teachers to determine the strategic development of the SEND provision.

I am passionate about education and the result of supporting young people to challenge themselves and achieve their potential. Before my SEND roles, most of my career was within the Performing Arts. Whilst I am fervent about the Arts, my interest in SEND has been ever-present. I believe inclusive practice promotes a culture of equal opportunity, high attainment, integration and respect for others. In addition to achieving the NASENCO award, I have completed qualifications in educational testing, and I am registered with the British Psychology Society. My previous schools include the top state school in the North of England, Ripon Grammar. I moved with my family to the USA in August 2020 and am part of the Diplomatic community. I enjoy fine dining, dance, and yoga in my spare time, and I am an avid singer.
