School Nurse George administers medications, manages health and wellness documentation, acts as a first point of contact in health-related emergencies, and more.
After spending 30 years in the educational field as a teacher and principal, I began my work as a nurse, working predominantly with physically and intellectually disabled students. I attended nursing school during my retirement and obtained my BSN. I am now on my way to my master’s degree in nursing. I have 8 years of experience at both hospitals and clinics. I spent the past year and a half in DCPS doing screening and testing of students who presented with possible symptoms of COVID-19 or showed a need for further testing. Primarily, my experience is with patients with both medical and mental issues. This experience will allow me to best serve your students here at BISW. My role here combines both of my careers and brings together my experience in education and nursing.
