“In the Early Years, relationships are our curriculum. When children feel safe and loved, the learning unfolds naturally.” Emily Brown, Head of Early Years
Our teachers prioritise helping every child feel they belong. Teachers welcome children by name, follow predictable routines, and create cosy spaces where children can settle at their own pace. These simple, caring actions help children feel understood and supported. When children feel safe, they explore more confidently, form friendships more easily, and approach new challenges with assurance. This emotional security is a key part of the PBIS Early Years philosophy.
We purposefully use play to help children learn in a natural and enjoyable way. Through open‑ended activities - building, imagining, talking, creating - children practise early literacy, maths, problem‑solving, and social skills. Because play feels familiar and joyful, children relax more quickly and feel proud of what they discover. Teachers stay close enough to support but give children space to try ideas independently. This balance helps children trust their own thinking and feel confident in their abilities.
“Play is powerful. It is where language grows, where thinking expands, and where joy becomes the foundation of lifelong learning.” Paul Baker, Head of Primary
Our classrooms are intentionally designed to feel safe, warm, and uncluttered. Children have quiet corners to rest, creative spaces to explore, and natural materials that invite gentle curiosity. Outdoors, children have space to run, climb, and investigate nature. These experiences help regulate emotions, strengthen coordination, and give children a sense of freedom and joy each day. Parents can feel reassured knowing that every area - indoors and outdoors - supports comfort, safety, and calm exploration.
Our school welcomes families from more than 60 nationalities which create a rich linguistic environment. English is a language that connects us. Children hear English throughout the day in stories, songs, and play, while their home languages are still celebrated and valued. This approach helps children feel proud of their identity and secure in their communication. Teachers model warm, simple language and encourage conversation in natural moments. Children quickly learn to share ideas, express needs, and connect with others.
Families are invited into the learning journey through stay and play sessions, workshops, open mornings and ongoing communication. These opportunities help parents see how play‑based learning supports early development and reassure them that their child is truly understood and cared for. Many families say the community feels welcoming from the very beginning, a place where they feel informed and listened to. This strong partnership helps children settle smoothly and thrive with confidence.
With the British EYFS framework and our own PBIS’s warm, international setting, children develop early communication, social understanding, physical skills, and curiosity in a safe and supportive environment. Children leave Early Years feeling confident, capable, and ready for the next stage of their learning journey - because their earliest school experiences were joyful, gentle, and full of belonging.
