    Principal

    Michael Bardsley

    Michael graduated from Manchester in 1993, studying Psychology (BSc) before moving on to Leeds to complete a PGCE in ICT. He was Head of ICT in York for nine years where he met his wife Nathalie before moving to Harrow International School in Thailand as Head of House.  In 2010, Michael and his family moved to the Netherlands, joining the British School in Amsterdam as Secondary School Headteacher.

    David Lawlor

    Deputy Head in charge of IB Diploma Program

    David Lawlor

    David was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland and completed his studies in Newcastle, England before becoming a Computer Business Analyst before training to become a teacher. He is now in his 17th year in Prague and with our school so has a goo understanding of the nucleolus of our community here in Prague. His role as Deputy Head in charge of Academic study is focused on supporting the academic program of the students at Libus from deciding on the right pathway with subject choices, monitoring achievement, providing academic guidance and helping student and parents get the most from their studies during their time at PBIS. David is responsible for leading the IGCSE, BTEC and IB qualifications at the Libus Campus.

    David is a Computer Science, ITGS and Business teacher who has taught a range of subjects at PBIS across various qualifications. He enjoys the philosophical study of the impact of technology around us while also teaching students fundamental systems design concepts for databases and programming.

    David has a young family who help him unwind and enjoy life beyond school while having a keen interest in playing football, running, gardening and computers. His moto in life is that, everything is within reach if you set your mind to it and have enough drive to achieve it.

    Christian Alexander Klaiss

    Born and raised in the United States, Alex has a Master’s Degree in Geography as well as an MBA, and earned his PGCE from the University of Nottingham in England. He has been teaching at PBIS since April 2008. Before working in the world of education, he was employed as a budget planner and financial analyst for British Telecom in Munich, Germany. Alex enjoys travelling, playing the piano, and engaging in sports, especially swimming, biking and tennis. He has his wife Petra have two lively daughters, Sandra and Vivienne.

    Robert O'Keeffe

    Originally from Ireland, Robert qualified from the University of Limerick in 2011 with a BSc (Hons) in Science Education. Soon after this he moved to Barcelona where he taught MYP Sciences for two years before moving to Prague in 2013 to teach English. Robert joined the school in 2014 as a Chemistry teacher, then in 2015 became a Head of Year. A passionate musician, he has written and released his own music since his early twenties and enjoys running, hiking and skiing to relax.

    Michael Pyle

    Michael graduated from Northumbria University, Newcastle in 2007 with a BSc (Hons) degree in Business Information Systems. He completed his teacher training at Durham Secondary SCITT (School Centred Initial Teacher Training) in 2010. After almost four years of teaching in County Durham in the UK, he departed for pastures new and found himself working in his first international school at the Dulwich College in Suzhou, China. Michael has been living in Prague for almost four years. His hobbies and interests are mainly sport related and when not following his beloved Newcastle United he often finds himself training for or running a marathon.

    Michael Korczyk

    Michael joined PBIS from Northern Idaho in the United States. He attended university in Bozeman, Montana at Montana State. In 2012, he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in education with a science focus. From there, he taught in a Montana town outside Yellowstone National Park educating Year Six in Maths and Science for two years, then transitioning to Secondary Maths for one year.
