Competitive teams and Sports:

Our competitive sports programme is designed for students who are eager to train, compete, and proudly represent SISD. Starting from Grade 2, students have the opportunity to join teams led by dedicated SISD staff who bring passion and expertise to their respective sports. Team selection is based on trials, and participation requires a higher level of commitment due to regular training sessions and inter-school competitions.

Communication has previously been shared to register your child for trials, which will take place during the first two weeks of term. If you missed this communication, please contact rhea.amolong@sisd.ae for more information. Our PHE department will contact you directly if your child has been selected.

MORE INFORMATION

  • Allocation of SISD ASAs
    • To ensure fairness for all families, allocations will not be made on a first-come, first-served basis.

    • After the SISD ASA registration period ends, SchoolsBuddy will process all registrations.

    • If an activity is oversubscribed, a random selection process will be used to allocate places.

    • Each student can participate in at least one ASA, with a maximum of two activities.

    • If your child is not automatically assigned to an ASA by SchoolsBuddy, please contact asa@sisd.ae for support.

    • To increase the likelihood of placement, select multiple preferences for activities on the same day. This will enable SchoolsBuddy to allocate your child to their second or third preference if their first choice is full.

    • Please ensure you register your child within the specified registration period, as allocations will be limited once the period has ended. After registration closes, parents who missed the deadline can still view available SISD ASAs and submit a "Join Request" on SchoolsBuddy. The SISD ASA team will review these requests and allocate based on availability.

  • Allocation of STRYX Clubs
    • Allocations will be made on a first-come-first- served basis for STYRX Clubs at the time of booking. If an activity is oversubscribed, a random selection process will be used to allocate places.

    • STRYX Clubs will contact you directly to confirm your child’s allocated activities.

    • Please ensure you register your child within the specified registration period to ensure your child can begin activities on time.

    Deadlines
Please respect deadlines. If you miss deadlines, ASA registration will not be guaranteed and your children will not be able to participate in ASAs.

    Equipment / Attire
Every child is expected to come to every lesson with the appropriate attire and equipment. Failure to do so will result in the child not being accepted in the ASA.
This is especially true for sports ASAs for which children need to have their sports clothes and shoes. Children are allowed to wear their SISD sports uniform on days they have sports ASAs.

    Attendance / Punctuality
Every child is expected to attend every lesson of the semester and to be punctual. In case of an emergency, students/parents are expected to inform the ASA Department and the teachers.

    Rules and Regulations
Failure to follow the ASA rules and regulations and the teachers’ / external providers’ policies may jeopardise the right of a child to participate in after-school activities.
