Author Visit - Jonathan Camm (Thursday 20 March 2019)

The Simon Lawrence Library is pleased to host the English, Hua Hin-based, author, Jonathan Camm, for a visit to the High School this week. He will be leading several workshops with our KS3 students during the day on Thursday 20 March, chatting about his expeditions from a mining engineer to a teacher and author to find more meaning to life as well as sharing his soul-searching journey and experiences in New Zealand with students. Although the Library does not have his series of ‘Countdown Mysteries’ stories for younger children which currently include 12 books, we do have a number of signed copies of his recent book ‘More to Life?’ available. If you would like to read it, please feel free to pass by the Library and grab a copy.

Graphic Novel Week

The Simon Lawrence Library is pleased to highlight new books for “Graphic Novel Week.” Our Bookflix shows a lot of new graphic novels which have been pouring into the Library. When you take a close look at the books on display, you can figure out they are not just a simple story with illustrations but are in fact some award-winning books as well as books relevant to current global issues such as refugees, civil wars, gender inequality, as so on. In addition, some graphic novels are selected based on very popular novels from world-renowned authors, e.g. Neil Gaiman’s American Gods, Gene Luen Yang’s Level Up as well as Rick Riodan’s Percy Jackson series. Please come enjoy our Graphic Novel collection this week.
