In this week’s High School News, learn more about:
Equity Partnership’s School Network Program Season 3 is working in partnership with JD Central and The Equitable Education Fund. Some Year 12 students are participating to support Ban Pa Lao school and creating a Thai Traditional shirt that is suitable for e-commerce, thus reducing inequity.
STA and Ban Palao have been working for more than 3 months to create this traditional Thai style shirt available for both genders, with 2 colours available for males and 3 colours available for females. The shirts have been hand-woven by Ban Palao School while Year 12 students worked on design and marketing.
Patterns on the wrist and chest are designed collaboratively by students from STA and Ban Palao School - all woven over a period of at least 3 days! We can definitely say there is a lot of effort and time to put on one shirt.
TACAYVA (Ta-Che-Wa), a brand created between STA and Ban Palao school, has a goal of spreading and protecting Ban Palao's culture from being forgotten. Every single shirt is 100% hand-woven from beginning to end with methods and techniques inherited from the wisdom of their ancestors. Beautiful Thai culture must be preserved for the next generation and be spread around the world!
In addition to traditional shirts, there will be scarves and brimless hats available. Both are 100 percent handmade by Ban Palao school. They feature a casual design while maintaining our unique patterns. The students always focus on not making mistakes and try their best for every single product. Those products will be carefully packed in paper bags tied with a rope also made by students.
All these items are currently on sale on “Shopee” only until the end of February. Type “tacayva” in the search field and you will easily find the products. Only limited quantities remain, so please hurry!

Want to try them?
Year 12 students are setting up a small booth near the main gate from Feb 1st until the half-term break. If you are still considering it, feel free to come to try them or see them in person! Different coloured shirts and a hat and a scarf! Feel free to come at lunchtime ask us any questions.
I would like to remind you all to ask for your cooperation in respecting our neighbours as you collect your children at the end of the school day. Since I asked this towards the end of last term, we have had further complaints from our neighbours.
Klongtan Metropolitan Police Station, whose officers are outside school every afternoon, have asked us to remind you all not to obstruct Sukhumvit Road, telling us that they will take actions in accordance with the law with any drivers who do so.
The staggered start to Term 2, and the current COVID situation in Thailand, mean that we are still working on this term’s High School Calendar, especially on Sports events, but the main, and sooner, events are shown below.
Please remember that all the school's live Google Calendars can be seen via Moodle.
At the end of last term, you will also have received an email from Mr Paul about this year’s NAE Parents Satisfaction Survey, and you should also have received a reminder more recently from your son/daughter's Head of Year.
We run this survey at this time every year when we are starting to plan school developments for the next academic year. The survey covers all the key areas of the school including the learning environment and teaching we provide, the way in which we support your child’s social development, our range of facilities and the way in which we communicate with our families.
We would very much like you to complete this survey as your feedback helps us to provide the best possible experiences for your child. While this link takes you through Moodle, please be assured that your responses are completely anonymous. The survey is designed to capture feedback on a per family basis, but if both parents take the survey this is also fine. Please note that parents need to complete the survey in one sitting.
Please note that the closing date for this survey has been extended to Friday, 4th February 2022.
