German Language Day at Primary School

German Language Day at Primary School | St Andrews - German Language Day at Primary School

It's been another busy week across the school with lots of discussion about all the extra-curricular activities that were on offer, as well as the wide range of sports opportunities for children to get involved in. This week we had some of the first sports fixtures of the year with U13 boys tennis and U14 girls tennis matches played at a tournament held at Harrow. There were also friendly football matches for U12, U13, U14 girls and boys teams held at Patana, which will surely help to set the tone and expectations for a competitive start to the season. On Sunday the Senior boys football team played at Harrow for the opening tournament of their season.

At the Primary School, there were some great learning opportunities as students celebrated German Language Day. I saw lots of excitement among the children as different year groups were searching for different German names hidden on objects around the school. It really was a great way for everyone at the Primary School to learn more about the German language and culture, and enjoy the national costumes of Germany that some of our children dressed in. Thank you to Ms Sarina - our new German language teacher - who created this event.
