Sports Day in Primary School is one of the most anticipated events of the academic year, bringing together the whole school community.
The sun shines bright, upbeat music echoes through the field, and everywhere you look, students are giving their best, with the resounding cheers from friends, parents, caregivers, and teachers.
Each year group competes within their House teams across football, basketball, multisport, and athletic activities, ranging from egg and spoon races in Foundation Stage 3 to shot put throws in Year 6. There are a large number of sports and activities for the students to compete in, and it’s a fight to the finish to see which House tallies up the most points!
Learning through movement: Sports Day is about moving and having a great time doing it. Whether students are running, jumping, skipping, or balancing, they’re not just using their bodies, but they’re also learning about focus, trying their best, and teamwork.
Creating happy memories: Whether it’s the giggles during an obstacle course, the thrill of a relay, the suspense of balancing an egg on a spoon, or seeing family and friends supporting from the sidelines, Sports Day is always a memorable day for everyone, especially the students.
Building teamwork and good sportsmanship: One of the best things about Sports Day is the way it brings everyone together. Students, teachers, and parents work in teams, encourage each other, and proudly cheer on their Houses. It’s a day full of high-fives, group hugs, and shared smiles. Team spirit and good sportsmanship are front and center. Learning to celebrate others’ success and to keep going when things get tough are important for the younger students to learn early on.
It’s a day when our school comes together to celebrate effort, teamwork, and joyful learning. When the day is done and the scores are counted, what matters most are the smiles, the friendships, and the memories made.
NAE Global Campus received a staggering 3,300 entries from 66 Nord Anglia schools all around the world, and one student from STA shone bright, winning Best in Show in the Art Music category: a big congratulations to Freya in Year 8 for her truly outstanding achievement and stellar performance!
High School Design and Technology students step outside the classroom to explore design and architecture in Bangkok. Year 8 students visited a uniquely designed café precinct, where they learned from the architect of the precinct himself how thoughtful use of materials, geometry, and landscaping can transform spaces. Meanwhile, Year 12 IB students explored the fusion of modern technology and traditional craftsmanship and the use of natural materials at the impressive studio of renowned Thailand-based architect Patrick Keane.
We’re thrilled to share that St Andrews International School Bangkok has once again made a mark in the realm of music. In the Nord Anglia Education (NAE) Global Campus Virtual Young Musician of the Year 2025 competition, we had 9 students from our Primary School and High School securing a place or a winning entry. What a true testament this is to the exceptional musical skills and dedication of our students.
