Where learning comes alive: a look inside St Andrews Primary School

A look inside St Andrews Primary School - A look inside St Andrews Primary School

St Andrews Primary School is a place where children feel inspired, supported, and excited to learn every single day. Our campus in central Bangkok offers a safe, modern, and nurturing environment carefully designed to help every child thrive academically, creatively, and personally.

Families enjoy a central Bangkok location and vibrant surroundings

St Andrews Primary School offers a dynamic and inviting learning environment located in the bustling, cosmopolitan heart of Sukhumvit Soi 71. Our location provides easy access, just a 10-minute drive from both the Ekkamai and Phra Khanong BTS stations, and is well served by the paid School Bus and Free Campus Shuttle.

Primary School feels like a natural oasis in the heart of Bangkok. Situated in a vibrant neighbourhood with both small local businesses and a diverse international community, students enter the gates and step into a world specifically designed to foster curiosity and growth.

Facilities designed with intention

There are dedicated areas for each age group – a Foundation Stage area for our youngest learners, all the way to Year 5 and 6 for upper primary – allowing students to grow in confidence as they use shared spaces and playgrounds.

Our commitment to student well-being and development is reflected in our purpose-built spaces, which include a 25-metre swimming pool, a heated small pool, indoor and outdoor courts and fields, dance studios, a modern gymnasium, music and drama rooms, a soft play room and a STEAM studio.

With new additions and upgrades continuously underway, our Primary School remains a modern, world-class environment where learning truly comes alive.

Specialist lessons and opportunities beyond the classroom led by passionate educators

Our diverse programme of specialist lessons is delivered by passionate teachers with backgrounds in Dance, Gymnastics, Swimming, Physical Education, Tennis, and Music. These lessons inspire children to explore these areas further within the extensive Extra-Curricular Activities (ECA) Programme after school.

Our diverse and exciting ECA programme is an integral part of life at St Andrews. From music and sports to coding and the arts, the choices are endless, and over 75% of our students are doing at least two ECAs every week. We offer an inclusive programme that gives children opportunities, whether they're new to an activity or already very experienced.

Embracing diversity through language learning and cultural experiences

Children also develop an understanding of Thai language and culture through specialist lessons and cultural experiences. All students take part in a rich programme celebrating Thai traditions, including festivals such as Loy Krathong and Songkran.

We place a strong emphasis on a child’s home language, recognising that a well-developed first language supports progress in English. Native Japanese, Korean, German, French, and Mandarin speakers may enrol in our First Language Programme from Year 1. Additionally, all students select a Modern Foreign Language—French, Spanish, or Mandarin—beginning in Year 3.

A commitment to ensuring every student is active and enjoys sports

Our Inclusive Sports Programme ensures that all children, from their earliest years in Primary School, enjoy meaningful and engaging physical activity. Supported by exceptional coaches and teachers, students are encouraged to try new sports, challenge themselves, and experience the excitement of friendly competition with classmates and other schools. Through this, they develop confidence, teamwork, and resilience—skills that extend far beyond the playing field.

Nurturing confidence through the performing arts

Creativity is equally celebrated at St Andrews. In our specialist drama and music lessons, students grow into confident performers, composers, and instrumentalists. These experiences naturally lead them to the stage of our professional theatre, where they shine in concerts, productions, and drama showcases throughout the year.

Learning music offers benefits in all aspects of life

Music education is another cornerstone of life at St Andrews. Beginning in Year 5, every student takes part in our Instrumental Music Programme, selecting an instrument to study through to Year 9. This long-term, structured approach helps children develop strong musical skills, personal discipline, and a lifelong appreciation for the arts.

Passionate educators dedicated to best practice

At the heart of our community are our dedicated teachers. They engage in continuous professional development and participate in innovative research initiatives, such as the Metacognition Action Research Project, a Nord Anglia Education initiative in partnership with Boston College and Harvard’s School of Education Project Zero. Their commitment to growth ensures that every classroom is guided by modern, evidence-based teaching that truly supports how children learn best.

St Andrews Primary School is special because it blends exceptional facilities, expert teaching, rich cultural and language opportunities, and a warm, inclusive community, right in one of Bangkok’s most dynamic neighbourhoods. Here, children are encouraged to explore their passions, develop their strengths, and grow into confident, capable learners prepared for a bright future.
