We now have an 8-lane FINA approved 25 meter pool, which is an upgrade from the previous one. This provides us with more space for social distancing as well as allowing for bigger squads for the Nagas swim team. As the pool is deeper this gives us the opportunity to bring in other sports such as water polo, as students will be able to tread water without touching the floor.

During the holidays, we had a member of FINA who came to install the technology needed in order to run top level swim meets. This equipment includes touchpads, dive blocks, a timing system as well as a beautiful scoreboard. This is the same equipment used at the Olympic Stadium 50 meter pool, and in swim meets around the world, which makes our pool one of the few that could host international swim meets in Phnom Penh.

Unfortunately, due to the closure of our school, we have been unable to officially open our Aquatics Centre just yet. We are looking forward to celebrating with an inter-house swim meet when we are all back on campus and getting the students excited about swimming again.

In the meantime, the facilities team are ensuring that the pool stays clean, beautiful and ready for the return of the students and commencement of swimming during our PE lessons. During this time of closure, we encourage students from all grades to remain active as much as possible. This will benefit your mental health as well as your ability to focus during lessons.
