It was decided that we should support four of our long term partners: Binh An, Binh Trieu, Binh Tho and Anh Minh. Please read below to find out more about our partners and how we spent this amazing amount of money!
Binh An School
Binh An is a school that provides free education for 120 disadvantaged children in District 8. We have worked with Binh An for nearly three years, inviting them to share in different activities with BIS HCMC students as part of our termly community clubs.
The community clubs that they have been part of this term are Community Football Club, Community Chess Club, Swimming Club and Origami and Paper Crafts Club.
A proportion of enterprise money this year has gone to support the facilities at Binh An School. We have provided them with a stereo and microphone for their classroom, as well as fire extinguishers for the school!
Binh Trieu School
Binh Trieu is a school for disadvantaged children in Thu Duc District. Binh Trieu provides schooling for 427 children from kindergarten to Year 5. Five classes study in the morning and seven classes study in the afternoon. Binh Trieu is also home to 31 children that live at the shelter.
We have worked with Binh Trieu for around 4 years and they regularly come to APP for community clubs. This term they have taken part in Under Construction Club, Friendship Club and Lego Club.
A proportion of enterprise money this year has gone to support Binh Trieu with a new printer, stationery and fire extinguishers!
Binh Tho School
Binh Tho School provides an education for 152 street children in Thu Duc District. There are 6 classes from Kindergarten to Year 5. British International School, HCMC have worked with Binh Tho for around 4 years and they visit each year as part of the EYFS Community Project.
A proportion of enterprise money this year has supported Binh Tho with teaching equipment for the classrooms!
Anh Minh School
The Anh Minh School provides specialized education for 150 children with hearing impairment in the Binh Thanh District.
They teach from Year 1 to Year 9 and 30 of their students have integrated within the normal schooling system of the adjoining local school. Anh Minh is one of our strongest partnerships and have joined in our Year 2 Community Project for the past five years.
Anh Minh is currently in the process of building a new science and multipurpose room at the school. A proportion of enterprise money this year has paid for the windows and doors of the new rooms!
Thank you to all the students at APP for their hard work in supporting our community! Our partners will be coming to collect their new equipment at the end of term assembly next week. We look forward to welcoming them then!
