Our BIS Barracudas made a huge splash at this year’s UNIS Hanoi Invitational Swim Meet, held on October 25–26, 2025. Over two exciting days, 40 students from Year 3 to Year 13 proudly represented BIS, competing in 82 events and demonstrating incredible skill and determination.
Swimming off against nearly 500 swimmers from 18 international schools, our Barracudas rose to the challenge with confidence and heart. They showcased not only their technical swimming ability but also the resilience, integrity, and unity that define our team spirit.
For our Year 3 swimmers, it was their very first UNIS experience. From the moment they stepped onto poolside, they were welcomed and supported by the older Barracudas. Our veteran Barracudas truly embodied teamwork and mentorship in action. They led by example, cheered from the stands, and ensured the younger swimmers felt part of something bigger.
That team spirit paid off. Every race, every relay, every cheer added up to an incredible result — the BIS Barracudas claimed the Overall Team Gold! First-place champions, earned through dedication, courage, and unwavering commitment.
Proud of Every Barracuda
While the medals and podium finishes are impressive, what matters just as much are the individual improvements achieved by our swimmers. These results reflect the hard work, dedication, and determination they bring to every race. Our Barracudas proved that success isn’t only measured by medals, but by the progress each athlete makes along the way.
Of course, we know our Barracudas love a good medal or two—or three—and they certainly didn’t disappoint, bringing home plenty of hardware to celebrate!

Reflections from our Head of Aquatics
A special mention goes to our new Head of Aquatics, Mr Craig Smith, who led his first meet with BIS HCMC. His leadership and energy have already made a positive impact on the team. Reflecting on the weekend, Mr Smith shared "This meet was more than just about swimming fast — it was about connection, growth, and supporting one another. Seeing our Year 3s compete at their first UNIS meet alongside our experienced competitors was truly special. The atmosphere, the encouragement, the joy are what makes the Barracudas who we are. A heartfelt thank you to our fantastic coaching team, our parents, and of course, tour swimmers who made this competition such a success. From early morning starts to the final relay of the weekend, every effort contributed to this incredible team achievement ”

A Big Thank You to the Barracuda Family
With such a strong start to the season, our Barracudas are already gearing up for the next challenge.
