Three years ago, driven by a desire for adventure, I nervously boarded a flight to Abu Dhabi. A place I had never been to before and a place where I knew nobody. Looking back, I took a huge risk but there has honestly not been a day since, that I regret it. I often refer to my move here as ‘the best decision I ever made.’

Abu Dhabi has quickly started to feel like home. Anyone who knows me will tell you that since moving here, I have developed a love of staycations and I enjoy spending my weekends discovering Abu Dhabi and the surrounding areas on mini adventures. Living in Abu Dhabi, also allowed me the opportunity to have some pretty big adventures and I have seen some places that I would never have dreamed of seeing when I was back at home. A recent visit to the Taj Mahal provided one of these wow moments!

Growing up in a family of teachers, I never really considered doing anything else. I can distinctly remember when I was 8, I went in to help my mum in the Year Two class she was teaching at the time. This was the exact moment I knew this was what I wanted to do. Fast forward a few decades and here I am – teaching my own Year Two class!

It is fair to say that I love my job. It is rare that an hour will pass where I don’t laugh. I am not sure there are many people who can say that! I love having the power to help children turn into confident young people and this is something I will never tire of doing. For the past few years, I have been running Little Stars CCA. It has been amazing to watch children’s confidence blossom through this CCA.

This year I have also been running the BISAD Diploma. This has given me an amazing opportunity to be wowed by the things the amazing children do here at BIS Abu Dhabi and I can definitely say I am proud to teach here.
