Year 4 have been performing their theatre promenade of The One and Only Ivan this week.
The show has been very much student-led. Students read the book, produced their own play scripts for each part of the story, used their Art and Design Technology skills to make props, turned their classrooms into a stage and even learned all about the Rainforest (where the real one and only Ivan was born).
Students created their own dance moves and drumming sequences, working collaboratively and creatively to produce the finale of the show.
It has been astounding to watch how Year 4 have applied these skills with confidence as they performed in front of a variety of audiences. It has also been amazing to witness their resilience when things haven’t gone to plan.
Well done, Year 4! You should be immensely proud of yourselves.
We’re thrilled to announce that Nord Anglia Education is continuing its partnership with UNICEF for another three years! Since 2017, this unique collaboration has provided incredible opportunities for our students to engage in meaningful social impact initiatives that raise awareness of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), helping foster empathy, social advocacy, and global citizenship in all our classrooms.
Turkan, Tia, and Renad – our student Social Impact team – returned from Houston in June. The final part of their Houston experience was to provide feedback to the school’s senior leaders about what they had learnt during the UNICEF training and to propose their ideas for change.
