Community Group Update

Please welcome the new members of our School Community Group Committee! They are:

Each member of the committee has a responsibility for one of the important areas that the Community Group supports the school in, and they are looking for new members to join the committee in taking up one of the following positions:

Lost and Found:

The Lost and Found person plays an important role in managing lost items and facilitating their return to their owners.

  • Collaboration with the School Community - Work closely with the school community, including students, teachers, staff, and parents, to raise awareness about the lost and found, the importance of responsible ownership, and the process for retrieving lost items.

     

  • Periodic Item Disposal or Donation - Over time, unclaimed items may accumulate in the lost and found. Periodically review and dispose of items that remain unclaimed for a certain period or co-ordinate the donation to charitable organizations.

Sports Events:

The Sports Events person liaises with the Falcon team and is responsible for helping to organise and oversee various sporting activities run by the school.

  • Liaise with Falcon Team and help with planning sports events and tournaments held at the school.

     

  • Oversee the availability and preparation of sports facilities, such as fields, courts, or gymnasiums, required for the events.

Creative Arts:

The Creative Arts person liaises with Drama teachers and is responsible for promoting and supporting the drama programme and activities within the school.

  • Advocating for Drama Education - Serve as an advocate for drama education, recognising its importance in fostering creativity, self-expression, and communication skills.

     

  • Organising Drama Events - Play a crucial role in organising drama events, such as school plays, talent shows, and drama club performances. This includes co-ordinating with teachers, students, and parents, arranging rehearsal schedules, securing performance venues, and managing logistical aspects
  • Supporting Drama Teachers and Students - Work closely with drama teachers to provide support and assistance. This may involve helping with auditions, sourcing props, and costumes.

Treasurers:

*Treasurer's role is one role done by 2 people working alongside each other. Both will be responsible for overseeing the overall finance. If one treasurer is not available, there will be another treasurer available, and both need to be familiar with the funds coming in and out. *

The Treasurer plays a critical role in maintaining financial transparency and ensuring the responsible use of funds.

  • Financial Record-Keeping - Responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records for the Community Group. This includes keeping track of income, expenses, and all financial transactions.

     

  • Budget Planning and Management - Help allocate funds to various activities or programs and monitor the budget throughout the year to ensure that spending aligns with the approved plan.

     

  • Financial Reporting - Prepare regular financial reports to present to the Community Group.

Healthy Snack Shop:

The Healthy Snack Shop person plays a vital role in promoting healthy eating habits among students.

  • Menu Planning and Product Sourcing - Responsible for planning and selecting the right products. Research and source high-quality, wholesome, and nutritious snacks that align with the school's guidelines and preferences.

     

  • Ensuring Food Safety and Hygiene - Maintain food safety and hygiene standards in the snack shop, e.g., proper food handling procedures.

 

The Community Group meets periodically to support school events and to welcome new families into our community.
