Our celebration assemblies are moments of pride and joy, showcasing the remarkable achievements of our students. As we applaud each success, we reinforce our school values of Kindness, Respect, and Honesty, as well as acknowledge the empathy, resilience, and talent among all the students in our community.
As a school, this academic year, we are focusing on Sustainable Development Goal 15 (SDG15). Consequently, students voted to go electronic with certificates as a way of saving the environment by using less paper. We are also awarding those who won an award with seeds to plant in our community garden. These plants will remain a symbol of their personal growth as individuals, as well as ensuring the continued sustainability of the garden. We congratulate all our student award winners and continue to encourage each and every member of our community to strive for success in all that they do!

As we approach the end of a vibrant academic year filled with events, achievements, and memorable moments, I am delighted to share some fantastic news with you all. Our school has been honoured with not one, but two prestigious awards in recognition of our commitment to parent engagement: the MENA Parent Partnership Award and the ADEK Best Parent Engagement Award.

It’s something I’ve believed for a long time — that learning isn’t predetermined by our genes. It’s about growing, persevering, and learning through the process. I was really mindful of this idea at this week’s wonderful Primary Summer Concert, after which I found myself reflecting on whether these amazing children have an innate talent, or whether they have achieved so much because of hard work and practice.
I believe it’s the latter. These children, their parents, and their teachers all seem to share the belief that by trying and working hard, they will get better at what they do. This is what we call a growth mindset.
On 22nd May, BIS Abu Dhabi proudly celebrated the graduation of our incredible Class of 2025. This special event brought together students, families, and staff to celebrate a milestone that was years in the making, one filled with dedication, friendships, and unforgettable memories.
