BIS Abu Dhabi Celebrates Outstanding GCSE Results 2025-26

We are proud to celebrate another year of outstanding GCSE results at The British International School Abu Dhabi. The Class of 2026 has demonstrated exceptional academic achievement, resilience and determination, with results reflecting the hard work of our students and the dedication of our teachers and families.
This year, the I/GCSE cohort consisted of 161 students, who collectively completed 1,366 examination entries, achieving results that reflect both the breadth and depth of academic success across the curriculum.
Exceptional Academic Achievement
This year’s results highlight the strong academic performance of our students, with impressive outcomes across the full range of grades:
- 20% of all grades were awarded a Grade 9, the highest possible grade
- 36% of grades were awarded Grades 9–8
- 57% of grades were awarded Grades 9–7
- 93% of all grades were between Grades 9–4
These results demonstrate the high academic standards achieved by our students and the strength of the personalised support they receive throughout their secondary education.
Looking Ahead to the Next Chapter
Following their GCSEs, most of our students will continue their educational journey at BIS Abu Dhabi, either by joining the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) or pursuing one of our BTEC pathways in Business, IT or Sport.
A Message from Our Head of Secondary
Our new Head of Secondary, Dave MacCormick, congratulated the Class of 2026:
“I would like to congratulate the GCSE Class of 2026 on a fantastic set of results. These results recognise the hard work, resilience and tenacity each student has undoubtedly demonstrated throughout their time at BIS Abu Dhabi so far. They are also testament to the knowledge, skill and expertise of our excellent teachers. I am very much looking forward to working with our talented students as they return to the Senior School for the Autumn Term.”
A Community Achievement
Principal Alan Cocker also shared his congratulations with our students, families and staff:
“I am immensely proud of our students and the outstanding GCSE results they have achieved this year. In what has been a challenging period for many across our region, they have shown remarkable resilience, determination and maturity. These results reflect a true partnership between students, parents and staff. I would like to thank our teachers for their dedication, expertise and care, and our parents for their unwavering support. Together, we have built a community where young people can flourish and achieve their very best. Congratulations to every student on all that you have accomplished. We are incredibly proud of your achievements and look forward to supporting you as you take the next step in your educational journey and continue to realise your ambitions.”
The success of the Class of 2026 is a celebration for our whole school community. Behind every result is a story of hard work, perseverance and personal growth, supported by teachers, parents and peers every step of the way.
We extend our warmest congratulations to all our GCSE students and wish them every success as they begin the next chapter of their journey.
