BIS Abu Dhabi Community Raises AED 26,495 for Pinktober

This October, the BIS Abu Dhabi community came together to mark Pinktober and raise awareness of breast cancer. Through the collective generosity of our students, parents and staff, we raised an incredible AED 26,495, which will be donated to support the vital work of the Al Jalila Foundation.

A Community United for a Cause

Throughout the month, students, parents and staff took part in a range of fundraising activities. From our Parent Coffee Morning and ice cream sale to the pink goodie sale, there were plenty of opportunities for everyone to get involved and support the campaign.

Students Making a Difference

We are especially proud of our students, who played a leading role in the campaign. Akhil (Year 8) and Aditi (Year 7) championed the Wall of Hope and worked with local companies to support fundraising efforts, while our Year 12 students organised a range of activities including face painting and a staff vs senior football match.

Through these experiences, our students learned the importance of compassion, empathy and social responsibility. By taking action to support others, they saw how individual contributions, however big or small, can make a positive difference in the lives of those around them.

Celebrating the Generosity of Our Community

A highlight of our Pinktober fundraising efforts was the raffle, which ran throughout October and featured prizes generously donated by local businesses and BIS Abu Dhabi parents. On 30th October, Mr Cocker selected 37 lucky winners in the raffle draw. We are grateful to everyone who contributed prizes and helped make the initiative such a success.

A huge thank you to every student, parent, member of staff and supporter who contributed their time, donations and enthusiasm throughout Pinktober.

Raising AED 26,495 is a wonderful achievement and a reflection of the kindness and generosity that define our school community. Together, we have shown how much can be accomplished when people unite behind a meaningful cause.
