It is a privilege to be a FOBISIA Member

As I am sure  you are aware British International School Hanoi has been a member of the Federation of British International Schools in Asia (FOBISIA) since October 2015. FOBISIA is a federation made up of 55 prestigious British type schools from all over Asia.

It is a privilege to be a FOBISIA Member As I am sure you are aware British International School Hanoi has been a member of the Federation of British International Schools in Asia (FOBISIA) since October 2015. As I am sure  you are aware British International School Hanoi has been a member of the Federation of British International Schools in Asia (FOBISIA) since October 2015. FOBISIA is a federation made up of 55 prestigious British type schools from all over Asia.

As Simon Weston the FOBISIA Chair states:

‘All FOBISIA schools are very special and unique places that are proud to be bound by a sense of common fellowship that firmly places the educational well-being of young people at the very heart of everything they do’.

It is a privilege to be FOBISIA member and I was very pleased to attend the ‘Principal’s Business Meeting’ in Beijing last week. At the meeting we addressed many issues to try and improve and develop  the federation  further. It was a productive and positive meeting expertly hosted by the British School of Beijing.

Being a FOBISIA member has many advantages and responsibilities. As a school we always strive to support FOBISIA activities and I have highlighted many examples in the past. Only this week we are participating in two FOBISIA events. Firstly, the British International School Hanoi Golf Team travelled to Phuket, Thailand on Sunday to take part in the FOBISIA Golf Tournament hosted  by the British School Phuket at the Laguna Golf Resort. The team of 6 students participated in the Under 13, Under 15 and Over 15 age groups. I am pleased to inform you that the boys  represented the school exceptionally well both with their behaviour and  golfing ability. Each boy achieved great scores. In the Over 15 Group  Phuong Long (Y12) came  first  in the ‘nett scores’ section and Bao Long (Y7) came  third in the ‘gross scores’ section of the Under 13 group. I am very grateful to Mr. James Trett for organising this trip with  Mr. Jon Witton supporting him and for being in Phuket supporting them  throughout.

Additionally, our Under 13 Team are currently participating in the FOBISIA Games being  hosted by Garden International School Rayong, Thailand. A team of  25 students accompanied by our Ms Wild, Ms Airdrie and Mr Langford left Hanoi on Wednesday to  take part in Athletics, Swimming, Basketball and Football. It is an intensive few days for them  but we are already receiving reports of some great achievements by them. In the Athletics and Swimming we have won an astonishing number of medals with a large percentage being gold. I am sure we will get further reports in due course.

The BIS Lionhearts are going from strength to strength in all sports.

I do hope that you all have a wonderful weekend
