Tet Celebration at BIS Hanoi 2018

Tet is the most important festival for Vietnamese people. It starts the 23rd day of the last month of lunar year, when they worship Tao Quan (the Kitchen God). 

To mark this most important occasion, the students of BIS Hanoi have had a unique Performance Program, in which the cultural values of the Vietnamese people are highlighted. 

Students in Year 2 & 3, who have been learning about the Ede Minority, have performed a dance that tells a story about the Ede farmers’ work on their fields during the spring time.

Tet is also an occasion for family reunions. No matter where one works to earn a living during the year, they will never fail to return to their homelands to be with their family members on the occasion of Tet. 

The story about Lac Long Quan and Au Co is the legendary tale of the Vietnamese telling us about the formation of the Vietnamese race. It was retold by a dancing performance by fifth-grade students who described the cultural activities of the time. 

High school students were also proud to perform a song that honored the spirit of national pride through the song Lac Hong Blood, in combination with the playing of drums and martial arts.
