International Week 2018 at BIS Hanoi

It was a colourful display of costumes, flags, and music, where our whole community came together to celebrate our diversity.

Last Saturday (November 10), our International Festival set an extremely high bar for the week ahead with some amazing performances from Years 3, 4 and 6 but the International Week that followed certainly lived up to expectations.

The British Ambassador, Mr. Gareth Ward, together with Ms. Hill opened our International Parade on Monday (November 12) which was a wonderful celebration of the 27 different nationalities in our Primary School. It was a colourful display of costumes, flags, and music, where our whole community came together to celebrate our diversity. As Global Citizens, we are always thinking of others and keeping our values of Care, Respect, and Integrity at the heart of everything we do.

Classes from F1 to Year 6 each had a country to focus on and dived into learning about cultures, traditions and much more over the last week. From Brazilian Cooking to Flamenco Clapping and a Holi Festival to Malawian Dancing it has been an incredible week of learning and fun.

Our parents made incredible contributions this week. From cooking demonstrations to preparing the cultural exchanges, leading activities and workshops to helping out in class - you have been phenomenal and we say a huge thank you to everyone for their help, energy, skills and time. You have made memories with our students this week that they will remember for a long time!

Everyone will enjoy a rest this weekend after all the energy and effort that has gone into the week but what makes it all so special and worthwhile are the reflections and reactions of our students. Two of our House Captains share their reflections below.
