On Friday 27th September, BIS Hanoi hosted the International Schools of Hanoi University Fair 2019 at our campus. There were more than 150 universities from 20 different countries in attendance with over 30 workshops for Year 11-13 students from BIS Hanoi and UNIS as well as parents.

Our Year 11-13 students, and UNIS students and Secondary parents, had the opportunity to join over 30 workshops at the International Schools of Hanoi University Fair 2019. Three parent specific workshops were held in the Theatre with topics revolving around what is it like for their children to study in the UK, Canada and Netherlands. During the sessions, University representatives offered parents useful practical information and took questions from the interested audience.

Specifically for students this year, over 30 different workshops were organised covering a wide range of topics from information about studying abroad, potential future careers to soft skills that are essential for students through university life. Our students were particularly interested in topics such as “How to Sell Yourself Through Your Activities List”, “How to Prepare for Life at University” and “How to Prepare for an Interview”. The interest in these workshops shows that students are planning ahead and preparing themselves for life after high school!

Taking place in the Auditorium, the University Fair had over 150 universities from 20 countries in attendance and was an amazing opportunity for students from both schools as well as parents. The atmosphere of the Fair was conductive and lively with exhibitors’ stands on display around the Auditorium, providing a lot of valuable information for students on application requirements, specific courses and general information on the University itself and the town or city that it is in. Importantly, students gained vital knowledge of various university options that they may not have known about or considered before hand.

We would like to thank all of the University representatives for making the workshops & fair such a success! We hope the students and parents grasped the opportunity with both hands!

A very special thanks must also be given to our University Counsellor, Ms. Fairbairn, who coordinated and organised the Fair. We could see the students reaping the benefits of her endeavours.
