Yet again, the support and dedication of our parental community has inspired the children and helped them achieve some truly wonderful outcomes.
The students themselves have continued to work hard when accessing and completing the E-learning made available by their ever-diligent class teachers.
In Year 5, the students have continued to work on their grammar and punctuation in writing. The children have also started to apply this learning when researching and learning about their new space topic. Teachers have been providing detailed personal feedback as well as speaking to and emailing parents where requested. In Maths, the classes have been revising their calculation skills as well as key mathematical vocabulary.
In Year 6, each class has been learning about properties of triangles and internal/external angles in Maths as well as developing their problem-solving skills. Meanwhile, the students have been exploring a new book The House with Chicken Legs in Whole Class Reading as well as reading a variety of picture books to help celebrate Book Week. In their writing, the children have been developing their figurative language by practising how to use subordinating conjunctions and verb tenses.
Across both year groups, it has been wonderful to see so many parents and children talking about and extending their understanding in Google Meet discussions, via email correspondence and regular student feedback on Google Classroom.
Once again, we must send our gratitude to our specialist teachers who have provided a number of online learning opportunities in Computing, Vietnamese, MFL, P.E., Dance as well as Music.

As the academic year whirls by, the first term in primary school draws to a close, marking the end of a whirlwind of learning, growth, and new experiences.
As we move towards the end of term, our Primary exit points are always a great celebration of learning that has taken place over previous weeks and months.
At BIS, in addition to the excellent opportunities we are providing in the classroom, we enrich the students experiences and learning by taking them on day trips.
