Phase 3 continue to go from strength-to-strength

6I Girls
Phase 3 continue to go from strength-to-strength Learning has gone from strength to strength, with an increase in participation from our students but also in terms of the challenges undertaken and the success achieved.

Learning has gone from strength to strength, with an increase in participation from our students but also in terms of the challenges undertaken and the success achieved.

Our students have highlighted their intelligence, dedication, and most importantly their willingness to reflect on their learning in order to progress quicker and with greater confidence.

In Year 5, students have continued their work on space, by continuing with a story called ‘Jazz Harper – Space Explorer.’ Their Whole Class Reading skills have been put to good use as they have evaluated and inferred meaning through the text. In Writing, the students have worked on developing and editing their International Space Station diary extracts. In Maths, meanwhile, classes have developed and refined their understanding of key number facts including factors, multiples and prime numbers.

In Year 6, students have moved forward in their understanding of algebra by comparing expressions, formula, and equations before applying this knowledge to area and perimeter as well as word problems. The students have researched Russian culture as they continue with The House with Chicken Legs in Whole Class Reading. In their writing, the children have been developing their figurative language and use of hyperbole based on the short animation: Eye of the Storm.

In both year groups, students have also been completing Ms. Bevan’s Beat Challenge in Music as well as meeting with and receiving feedback on their P.E. work from Ms. Salome and Ms. Allen.

Our students were also lucky enough to meet with the Guardian UK Newspaper journalist Phoebe Weston, who kindly agreed to hold a Google Meet session, where she kindly discussed her role as an Environmental Correspondent.

Well done to everyone for a great week!
