This week, our spotlight on learning article focuses on the Let’s Think in English accelerated learning programme as we were lucky to be visited by its lead trainer Mr Michael Walsh from Kings College London.
This past week - October 2nd to 6th - was Dyslexia Awareness Week 2017. This week has not only been about awareness, but also about understanding the experience of people with Dyslexia, as not only being one of challenge but of success as well.
As we mentioned earlier in the week, students and teachers at BIS HCMC have been taking part in the World’s Largest Lesson to raise awareness of, and continue our work towards, the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
On 11th May, BIS HCMC sent a team of four YR8 students to China to the FOBISIA Secondary Mathematics Competition held at the British School of Beijing.
World Book Day is an annual celebration of the enjoyment books can give us, and this week is its 20th anniversary! There will be events going on at schools across the world, including author readings, book quizzes, dressing up as characters and more.
On Saturday the 24th of September, 12 BIS Students participated in the Saigon Senior Logic Competition held at ISHCMC, where their logic and wits were tested to their limits.
After the difficult exam period, there is nothing like setting the students a challenging public speaking competition to make every moment of school count.
The ever-popular FOBISIA short story competition is this year being hosted by BIS HCMC. The theme is ‘Flight’, and students are encouraged to interpret this as creatively as possible.
