British International School of Houston’s average score this year is 5.2 base points higher than the IB global average, widening the gap between ourselves and other IB schools around the world. 

IB Diploma students at The British International School of Houston enjoy outstanding results for the 2017/18 academic year British International School of Houston students have once again achieved strong results in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme for the 2017/18 academic school year.

British International School of Houston’s average score this year is 5.2 base points higher than the IB global average, widening the gap between ourselves and other IB schools around the world.

  • We are delighted to announce that one student from our school received full marks — the maximum score of 45 points. This is an incredible achievement for this student is only 1% of students worldwide who received full marks this year on the IBDP. 
  • Three of our students achieved impressive scores of 44 points.
  • Our students' average score in the IB Diploma was 35, significantly ahead of the 2017/18 global average of 29.78 points.
  • 22% of our students achieved 40 points and above. This is the level of attainment required to gain admission to the world's elite universities, such as Cambridge, Oxford, Harvard and Stanford.
  • 82% of our students achieved a score higher than the IB global average.

These are truly outstanding results and are a true reflection of our hardworking students, dedicated and nurturing staff, supportive parents and the strength of the IB programme at BISH.

The International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme, commonly referred to as the IBDP, is a two-year education programme for students age 16-19. The programme is a widely accepted and recognised qualification for entry into higher education and universities worldwide.
