The National Merit designation is the culmination of a rigorous selection process, and it opens doors to potential scholarships and further academic opportunities.
Being a National Merit Semifinalist is a prestigious recognition awarded to high school students in the U.S. based on their performance on the PSAT/NMSQT. Each year, about 16,000 students, representing less than 1% of high school seniors, qualify as semifinalists. This is an important academic achievement that recognizes outstanding academic ability and potential for success in college. Semifinalists can advance to become National Merit Finalists by completing an application, demonstrating high academic performance, and receiving an endorsement from their school. Many colleges and universities offer scholarships to finalists.
Please join us in congratulating Vaughn, Fowwaz, Avilash and Olivia on this outstanding achievement and wishing them continued success in their academic journey.
