Celebrating 25 Years Through Service

Celebrating 25 Years Through Service

As BIS Houston celebrates its 25th anniversary, students are leading a 25,000-hour service initiative that reflects the school’s commitment to developing well-rounded, compassionate leaders.

A Legacy of Leadership and Giving Back

This year marks a special milestone for BIS Houston - 25 years of academic excellence, global learning, and community connection. To honour this anniversary, our Student Leadership Team are leading a bold initiative: 25,000 hours of service across the school year.

It’s more than a number. It’s a reflection of who we are - a school where students grow into confident, compassionate leaders who understand the value of giving back.

Service That Builds Character

Our students are exploring a wide range of service opportunities, from local outreach to global partnerships. These projects are designed to be inclusive, student-led, and impactful.

Whether it’s supporting families during the holidays, organising donation drives, or working with community partners, our students consistently show that leadership is about empathy, responsibility, and impact.

A Culture of Warmth and Purpose

Service isn’t just something we do - it’s part of who we are. Over the years, BIS Houston students have raised funds, volunteered time, and created lasting connections with organisations that support everything from education, community outreach to emergency response.

These efforts have helped shape a school culture that values kindness, creativity, and global citizenship. They’ve also helped students develop real-world skills - planning, teamwork, communication - that will serve them well beyond the classroom.

Looking Ahead: 25,000 Hours of Impact

As part of our 25th anniversary, our student leaders are working on strategies to guide this year’s service journey. From small acts of kindness to large-scale initiatives, they are building a roadmap that reflects our values and celebrates our legacy.

The 25,000-hour challenge, led by our Student Leaders: Sydney, Jacob, Sergio and Olivia, is an invitation to every student - from Early Years to Year 13 - to take part in something bigger than themselves. It’s a chance to lead, to learn, and to leave a lasting mark on our community.

Leading with Purpose

Parents often ask what makes BIS Houston different. The answer is simple: we help students become well-rounded individuals who care deeply about the world around them. We provide inclusive education that encourages every child to lead, prioritise student wellbeing through values-driven learning, connect students to global challenges through meaningful service, and celebrate creativity and action alongside academic achievement.

Join the Journey

As we celebrate 25 years of BIS Houston, we are proud of the impact our students continue to make - and excited for what’s ahead. Whether you are a student, parent, alumni, or community partner, we invite you to be part of this journey.
