On Wednesday 15th February, Year 1 celebrated the end of our Pirate Unit with ‘Pirate Day’. We all dressed up as pirates and spent the day doing pirate activities! We designed and made our own pirate ships! Arrr!
On Wednesday 15th February, Year 1 celebrated the end of our Pirate Unit with ‘Pirate Day’. We all dressed up as pirates and spent the day doing pirate activities! We designed and made our own pirate ships! Arrr!
We have been learning about materials. In the morning, we conducted an experiment to see which materials would be best to use for our pirate ships. We wanted the ships to float. We also wanted our ships to be waterproof. We knew from our previous experiment which materials were waterproof. We collected a lot of junk to make our pirate ships. We designed our own pirate ships and made a list of what materials we needed. Then we built our pirate ships. Finally, we tested our ships to see if they actually floated!
