Meditation, Yoga and Mandala club

Meditation, Yoga and Mandala club

We always start our session with meditation. We play some quiet music and have the lights off. Sometimes we have images of nature or a flickering candle on the screen. This helps focus our concentration and quiet our mind.  Occasionally, Miss Boyd will guide us in meditation taking us to faraway places and we can imagine being somewhere else!

Next we practise our yoga asanas (postures), either individually or with a partner. Here, we are practicing with a partner: double dog, double pretzel, back-to-back chair, elevator and open heart! Can you think which is which?

We then work on our mandalas. This brings out our artistic side! We create our own patterns. Every mandala is unique. As well as a work of art, mandalas can be used for meditation. We create our mandalas by ourselves or with a partner.
