EXPLORING "BLOOD"

EXPLORING "BLOOD" - 18
Year 5/6 learned about the different parts of blood in science this week. As part of their topic on the circulatory system, they found out that our blood does many important things for our bodies. To bring the learning to life (without anything gruesome), children made models of "blood," identifying the function of each part. They used corn syrup to represent plasma, skittles, rice, and dried beans to represent red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets. As an extra challenge, they had to try and use the correct percentage of each one. It was a lot of fun and everyone agreed they had learned a lot!
