All about Ancient Greece

Wow! It's great to be back on campus and learning so many wonderful things in Year 3.

The students have had an exciting start back at school by beginning a brand new topic (Gods and Mortals) all about Ancient Greece. This amazing topic will see the students explore a fantastical world full of mythical creatures and legendary heroes. Poseidon, Apollo, Artemis and Zeus reign from Mount Olympus, watching mere mortals on dusty Athenian streets. What kind of mayhem could the people of Athens have waiting for them?

But before we learn about these unbelievable characters, Year 3 have investigated what Ancient life was really like in Greece. They have discovered some very unusual things, like how girls were not allowed to attend school in Athens, how Spartan children would be required to fight with each other from the age of seven to become fierce warriors, and how the Greeks found it very hard to get a long at times which resulted in war!

There are many other fascinating things to learn along the way and Year 3 cannot wait to tackle such and riveting topic!
