On June 14th, The British School of Nanjing organised a graduation ceremony for our Year 13 students. Starting at 11:20 AM, graduates, wearing gowns and doctoral caps, paraded past students and teachers who lined the school corridors from top to bottom.
As graduates walked into the auditorium, adorned with flowers and wielding blue and gold balloons, they oozed a celebratory and prideful vibe. Mr. Shephard, Principal of BSN, gave his most sincere congratulations to graduates. Mr. White, Head of Secondary recited a poem by Yeats, encouraging graduates to “tread softly” but to never let anyone “tread on their dreams”.
Each of the 13 graduates took turns in coming onto the stage to be “toasted” by their teachers. Attendees and the audience were touched by each video and speech presenting the growth stories and most treasured moments of the aspiring undergraduates.
Parents, teachers and students then came to the lobby on the ground floor and took memorable photos, all reveling in the joy of the ceremony.
When night fell, Prom Night Party Time began. If the ceremony at BSN struck a somewhat formal tone, the Prom Night let students celebrate in style and with pure verve. Every reveler was dressed in their best and photos and videos were being snapped left, right and centre – much akin to a red carpet paparazzi frenzy:
We wish all our graduates the best of luck and we know that the BSN Experience has equipped them superbly for their university studies!
