On Saturday 21st May, the Year 7 Swim Team met at BIS for their final competitive gala before the big end of season competition at UNIS next weekend.

As a school, we offer a swimming program during our PE lessons and it is compulsory for students to take part in swimming lessons.

Over the last half term, many Secondary school students have been competing for their houses in the Basketball competitions.

What we cannot look at from this game is the score line as it did not reflect the effort of the team and the individual performance.

The fixture this week against HIS saw a much improved performance by the Key Stage 3 girls.

Over the last 2 weeks, many Secondary students have been participating in the House Dodge Ball competition.

The day was very well organised and the students had lots of fun playing against many other schools.

We knew the game against UNIS was going to be our biggest test. They are the team that went a whole season without being beaten by anyone in the league or finals.

Ms Alicia Smith and Mr Perry Wild, the two new PE teachers, were interviewed by Gia Khanh and Giang in 9B.

Since arriving at BVIS I have been extremely impressed with the sport at the school. From what the PE team have seen in lessons in the first few weeks, there is a vast amount of potential here!

Tragically, drowning is one of the leading causes of death in children over the age of one in Vietnam and the Vietnam Ministry of Health Statistics state that at least 10 children drown here every day. Clearly, swimming is not only a fun activity or just sport but a vital life skill and here at BVIS we want to start making a change to this statistic.

This year, BVIS decided to go big and host an amazing athletics event against other International schools.

The students have shown some great knowledge of the rules and positions, which has helped them to overcome some tough attack.
