Celebrating bilingual fluency, confidence, and academic progress through NGRT results.

At BVIS Hanoi, we are proud to celebrate the exceptional English progress of our Year 6 students in the 2023–2024 academic year. According to the latest New Group Reading Test (NGRT) results, an impressive 92% of our Year 6 cohort met or exceeded UK progress expectations – a remarkable milestone reflecting both academic rigour and the determination of our students.

Benchmarking with International Standards

The NGRT is a UK-standardised, adaptive assessment designed to measure reading and comprehension skills. It allows schools like ours to monitor progress accurately while benchmarking student performance against national data from the UK. Through this assessment, we ensure every learner receives the support and challenge they need to thrive.

Year 6 Highlights

  • 92% of Year 6 students met or exceeded UK progress expectations
  • 26% exceeded those expectations
  • 12% achieved well beyond UK progress benchmarks
  • The top 20% of students exceeded UK attainment while also demonstrating full literacy in Vietnamese and/or Korean

These outcomes are a testament to the strength of our academic programme and the personalised learning experiences we provide.

A Learning Culture That Supports Success

At BVIS Hanoi, our English programme is taught by qualified international educators and delivered in a learning environment that values both academic excellence and language development. Students engage in reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension activities that build fluency, confidence, and critical thinking.

These results reflect not only academic achievement, but also our commitment to holistic student development. When students feel supported, motivated, and challenged, they can truly excel.

Looking Ahead

In May, our next round of NGRT assessments will continue our journey of growth and improvement. We remain committed to high standards, international benchmarking, and providing each student with the personalised learning experience they deserve.

We congratulate our Year 6 students on their outstanding achievements and look forward to even greater success in the years to come.
