Over her 8 years at BVIS, Nha Truc wasn’t just an academic achiever – she also served as Head Girl, a leadership role that required resilience, organisation, and the ability to inspire others. Balancing top academics with extracurricular commitments isn’t easy, but she says BVIS helped her build essential life skills: critical thinking, independence, and time management – all crucial to becoming a capable global citizen.
For Chi Thanh, Class of 2023 and current student in a dual-degree programme in Business Administration and Data Science at the University of California, Berkeley, the journey was equally transformative.
From the start, BVIS nurtured his academic passion and leadership potential, with roles such as Head Student, House Captain, and Economics Ambassador.
“At BVIS, extracurricular activities are integrated into our learning. They helped me explore my passions, build confidence, collaborate with others, and think creatively – all of which made my university application stand out.”
At BVIS, students don’t just study to pass exams – they study to understand, to grow, and to prepare for life. The international academic pathway culminates in the A Level programme, where students choose 3–4 subjects aligned with their interests and university goals.
“I chose Maths and Economics to strengthen my academic foundation, and Psychology and Media to broaden my perspective,” says Nha Truc. “A Levels allowed me to focus on what I love and prepare for studying abroad effectively.”
Behind these journeys are dedicated teachers and university counsellors who walk closely with every student. Whether it's giving weekend feedback on personal statements or organising tailored study sessions, their professionalism and care are a defining feature of the BVIS experience.
“It was the consistent support from my university counsellor and subject teachers that helped me believe in myself and find the right university path,” Chi Thanh reflects.
In many international settings, cultural identity can sometimes fade. But at BVIS, Vietnamese values are preserved and nurtured as an integral part of learning.
“It’s not just about speaking two languages – it’s about thinking in two cultures,” Chi Thanh explains. “That gives me a strong sense of identity and helps me connect with people from all backgrounds.”
Academic English at BVIS equips students for top global universities, while Vietnamese lessons (2-3 times per week) build cultural literacy, moral reasoning, and a deep sense of community.
“The Vietnamese classes taught us to respect elders, honour traditions, show gratitude, and contribute to society. These values now shape how I think and interact with others.”
