BVIS Hanoi: Transforming Spaces, Inspiring Minds

Transforming Learning Environments to Nurture Young Minds

At the British Vietnamese International School (BVIS) Hanoi, we believe that a child’s environment is as important as the curriculum they follow. Every improvement to our campus is not just a renovation – it’s a reflection of our deep commitment to holistic education. As a proud member of the Nord Anglia Education family, BVIS Hanoi is guided by a global vision and a local heart, investing annually and transparently in world-class learning spaces that support every child’s growth – intellectually, emotionally, and physically.

Continuing the Journey of Transformation

Starting in the summer of 2025 and continuing through to the end of the 2026 academic year, BVIS Hanoi will carry forward its annual campus-wide renovation project. With an investment of over 1 million USD, the school will upgrade several key facilities to better serve both current and future generations of students. The planned enhancements include:

• A full renovation of the Primary and Secondary School canteens
• A complete upgrade of the Secondary School football pitch to international standards
• Replacement of air conditioning systems in the Primary School gymnasium and canteen
• A modernised Early Years (EYFS) playground with a new skill development zone
• High-quality shading for both Primary and Secondary football pitches
• Outdoor landscaping for the Secondary School recreational area
• Renovation of Primary School STEAM classrooms

Why Now? Because Our Children Deserve the Best

As Hanoi’s climate becomes increasingly challenging – with prolonged heat and high humidity – ensuring student comfort and safety is more important than ever. These upgrades are not reactive; they are proactive, thoughtful steps to:

• Protect students’ physical and emotional wellbeing
• Create a vibrant, healthy, and inspiring environment for learning and play
• Meet the evolving needs of 21st-century education

“I was so excited when I saw the drawings of the new football pitch and playground. I think it will be a fantastic place for us to train and relax after lessons,” – Danh Khoa, Year 9 student

A School Day, Reimagined

Imagine your child learning, dining, and playing in spaces that are:

• Cool and comfortable, thanks to upgraded air conditioning
• Safe and hygienic, with thoughtfully redesigned facilities
• Inspiring and joyful, with creative, purpose-built environments

“I was amazed when I saw the new canteen design – so much natural light, and the serving counters are themed with different international cuisines. It feels like a food court in a modern shopping centre!” – Nam Khanh, Year 6 student

“Beautiful is the word I think about our school canteen. Sometimes I get stressed with something and I want to leave it aside by to have a nice meal with my friend and I can stay on at the canteen as long as possible and it would be lovely if the canteen is well renovated with such an amazing appearance and quiet, chill atmosphere” – Phuong Khue, Y6 student.

“I’m really looking forward to seeing the excitement on students’ faces when they enter the new STEAM rooms. The modern space will help them unlock their creativity and critical thinking,” – Mr Malcolm, Primary STEAM Teacher

“The new sports pitch will allow students to train more effectively, reduce the risk of injury, and improve their physical fitness. It’s a major step forward for our PE programme,” – Mr Chris Kitchen, Head of PE

“Learning environments directly impact students’ mental wellbeing. A cool, clean, and welcoming space helps them feel safe, heard, and supported in their development,” – Mr Ian Powell, Secondary Wellbeing Teacher

What Sets BVIS Hanoi Apart?

While many schools renovate only, when necessary, BVIS Hanoi takes a different approach. We invest continuously and strategically – because we believe our students deserve the best, every day.

• As part of Nord Anglia Education, our projects are guided and monitored by international experts in education and operations
• Every investment is transparent, purposeful, and future-focused
• We integrate play into learning, especially in Early Years, with environments designed to spark imagination and joy

“At BVIS, we offer a wide range of learning and play areas tailored to each age group, ensuring that students can develop skills and learn in a comfortable and natural way – something we consider essential in early years education. Creating dedicated learning spaces that integrate play is especially important at the Early Years level. I truly believe our youngest learners will have more opportunities to develop essential skills and find joy in their learning journey.” – Mr James, Deputy Head of Early Years and Primary, BVIS.

“At BVIS Hanoi, we don’t just teach knowledge – we create an environment where students can grow holistically. Facility upgrades are part of our long-term commitment to our students and their families,” – Mr Paul Holyome, Principal
