Dear Families
A massive thank you to all the families who have contributed to the flood appeal here at BVIS. Your generosity means so much. Thank you.

A huge thank you to all those that attend the Primary British Garden Party last Saturday. It was a great event with over 100 people in attendance.

As you know we are one of the leading schools in Asia. Consequently, we have been asked to host the FOBISIA Teaching Community Conference here at BVIS in November. We will have over 130 educators from across 35 different schools in Asia visiting BVIS to share good practice. The event will take place on 7th and 8th November.

I would like to cordially invite whole school parents to attend the "Parents & Principal Meeting: Term 1 AY 2025-2026 BVIS Hanoi" to present to you what is happening in the school and future plans, as well as hearing more of your views.
We hope many of you will be able to attend one of the sessions outlined below:
⏰ Session 1: 9:00-10:15AM, Wednesday, 05/11/2025
⏰ Session 2: 1:45-3:00PM, Thursday, 06/11/2025
Register to attend at THIS LINK.
I would like to congratulate all our Year 11 and Year 13 students for completing their important mock examinations. I know they worked very hard for the exams and I am sure their efforts will pay off with some fantastic mock result grades.
I am delighted to launch the academic calendar for the academic year 2026/2027. We hope this advance notice will help in your family planning.
View calendar HERE.
Just a reminder of our 25/25 promotion scheme. I am pleased to see many families already taking advantage of this generous offer.

I wish you all a very relaxing weekend ahead.

Our British Garden Party was a great success. It brought together happy families and friends and our talented children for an enjoyable morning of performances, food and fun.

In Early Years, the children have been eager to explore and experiment with our new water play equipment.

In IPC, Year 1 students shared about their favourite toys and then used recycled materials to create their own versions.

Year 2 children enjoyed exploring the "Super Humans" topic, engaging in activities focused on the five senses. They tasted various foods, guessed mystery objects by touch, identified scents, played listening games, and discovered optical illusions, fostering curiosity and understanding of how senses enrich daily experiences.

Year 3 students enjoy learning Maths through hands-on tools like counters and models, enhancing their understanding of multiplication. This engaging approach boosts their confidence, makes lessons exciting, and improves their problem-solving skills by allowing them to manipulate objects to solve problems effectively.

In Year 4 this week, students have been learning about different tastes. We conducted a taste test to investigate our ability to taste salty, sweet, sour, and bitter foods.

In Year 5 English, the children have been thinking about what we need from a home planet – and imagining finding new homes among the stars...

Year 6 students went to Forest Park to support the local community in rebuilding, restoring and refreshing their playground and gardens.

As we open recruitment for our next team of BVIS Head Students and Prefects, our current Year 13 leaders stepped up this morning to visit the Year 12 tutor groups — sharing their personal experiences, motivations, and the incredible opportunities that come with student leadership.
Their words clearly sparked inspiration. Later that same day in PE, several Year 12 students naturally stepped into leadership roles of their own, coaching and motivating their peers during the Basketball options session. It was a powerful reminder that leadership isn’t just about titles — it’s about initiative, teamwork, and the courage to make a positive impact.

Next week our KS3 students will have their Assessment Week, where they will sit formal exams in English, Maths, Science, History, Geography, Vietnamese and Vietnamese Humanities (or VAL). Our Year 13 student leaders have been supporting the students in years 7, 8, and 9 by running assemblies focused on revision support and exam strategies.

In preparation for KS3 exam week, 9I created some interesting extension questions for their peers and had a go at explaining and solving them. Students showcased their mathematical language skills, presentation skills and creative questioning ideas. Well done 9I!

BVIS Hanoi Geography signed up earlier this year to the British Antarctic Survey's research expedition. Our ticket will be transported from Calgary, Canada to British Antarctic Survey research station and will be stored in a time capsule. Students can follow updates at https://tickettoantarctica.com/journal/ with video updates and articles.

Last week, the Year 10 students studying iGCSE Vietnamese First Language enthusiastically explored newspaper articles in Paper 1, focusing on social topics. Working collaboratively, they selected themes, researched articles from various media and press sources, and synthesised the information themselves. They then presented their findings to the class with great energy and a lively spirit of learning.

Year 12 and 13 diploma students have started to delve into artificial intelligence and machine learning this term. They will also distinguish between predictive and generative AI, as well as examine key social and ethical issues related to AI systems.

7B know how to work as a team to study solutions and suspensions for Chemistry! Our students worked very well and collected results as experts.

9I have been working very well during the exothermic and endothermic reactions practical lessons. Students are really engaged and are now able to expertly analyze scientific results. Their teamwork is super too!
