Our students had such an amazing time celebrating Halloween! 🎃 Everyone looked fantastic in their creative costumes – so much effort and imagination went into each one.

In Early Years, the children have enjoyed getting messy and playful while learning through touch and discovery. They explored a range of textures and materials, using their senses to investigate and make new discoveries.

This week, the children in Year 1 went on a toy scavenger hunt around the classroom! They searched high and low to find different toys and learned lots of new vocabulary words to describe them. Everyone had so much fun exploring and practising their English at the same time!

This week, the children in Year 2 have been learning how to write clear and organised instruction texts. They sequenced pictures showing the steps they took to make their own lung models, using time words such as first, next, then, and finally to explain each stage.

This week, Year 3 has been learning all about dinosaurs! Our young palaeontologists had great fun digging for fossils and discovering what these ancient creatures might have looked like by studying their bones. They also researched different dinosaurs, learning fascinating facts about their size, diet, and habitats. The children created some wonderful dinosaur artwork, showing both creativity and curiosity as they brought the prehistoric world to life!

In Year 4 this week, students identified the differences between farming around the world. They also calculated how far the ingredients for our apple pie had travelled.

Year 5 students have learned about Pham Tuan – the first Vietnamese astronaut to travel into space. Through exploring his biography and achievements, as well as creating astronaut-themed models by themselves, the students have not only expanded their knowledge but also developed a greater sense of pride and excitement about humanity’s journey to conquer the universe.

Year 6 Children reflected on their service learning using their current Term 1b focus text type – news reports. Using the school values of reflection, communication and cooperation, they produced some fantastic outputs.

This week, all students in Years 7, 8 and 9 have sat examinations in English (First or Second Language), Maths, Science, History, Geography, Vietnamese (or VAL). This is an important experience for our students to learn what it is like to revise and sit formal examinations. The results of these assessments will be shared with parents in the term 1b reports and will give an important insight into your child’s progress. We have been extremely impressed with how our KS3 students have conducted themselves during the assessments and the commitment they have displayed to their studies.

A Level Psychology is one of our most popular subjects with two classes running in both Y12 and Y13. This is a fascinating subject which develops students’ critical thinking and scientific literacy by examining how the mind and behavior are studied, debated, and applied to everyday life. Our students really excel in this subject with the 2025 class achieving a 95% A to C pass rate and 59% of students being awarded a A or A*.

Our Year 11 students participated in a clean-up event at Mai Dich Park, partnering with Keep Vietnam Clean to promote environmental awareness. Together, they collected litter, engaged with the community, and demonstrated a strong commitment to sustainability.

We are proud to share that Ngoc My Linh Nguyen (Year 11) has been recognised as the Global Campus User of the Month for October!
My Linh’s consistent engagement and enthusiasm for learning beyond the classroom have earned her this recognition, along with a Joma voucher, a Global Campus badge, and a certificate of achievement.
The Global Campus provides students with exciting opportunities to connect, collaborate, and learn with peers across Nord Anglia schools worldwide. Each month, the most active and engaged student will be celebrated — a wonderful way to inspire a love of learning and global citizenship.

As part of revision week in Mathematics, students have been revising using a variety of methods and techniques. One activity was a collective memory task, focusing on team work, tactics, and visual memory to reproduce a mathematical poster of the main concepts for the exam.

Congratulations to Mai Phuong Khue (7V) and Gia Khanh (7V) who have won the Antarctica Flag competition. The winners were selected anonymously by Miss Claire and Mr Piers and will now have their flags sent to Antarctica where they will be photographed with researchers at one of the Antarctic Research bases. This could possibly be the first time that work from students has been sent from Vietnam to Antarctica. We look forward to hearing back in the coming months.
