In celebration of World Book Day, children in the Early Years Centre enjoyed exploring their love of reading.

Year 1 enjoyed a lovely Buddy Reading session with Year 4. The older students read confidently and supported their younger buddies with questions and explanations.

It was wonderful to see Year 1 listening carefully and beginning to share their own ideas about the stories. A meaningful moment of learning and connection for both year groups.

In celebration of the school's Book Week, Year 2 students engaged in memorable activities centred around the book 'Max and the Night' by Ed Vere. Moving beyond the pages, the children participated in various creative projects, including hand-crafting moon phase models, decorating classroom doors, and engaging in an inspiring book-sharing session with Year 5 students.
Teachers are confident that these enriching experiences will further cultivate and promote a passion for reading among our young learners.

Students kicked off their "Persuasive Writing" unit by linking their IPC cocoa theme with a delightful tasting experience. The students were absolutely thrilled, masterfully using vivid vocabulary to describe the cocoa products. It was wonderful to see their ideas come to life through such an engaging, hands-on activity!

Year 4 continued learning about animal adaptations in IPC, they collaborated to research how penguins and polar bears have adapted to living in extreme conditions. In STEAM, students began recording their stop-motion animations, using their backdrops and characters that they designed before the break.

As part of our Children’s Book Week celebrations, 5B had a "bubbling" good time recreating a scene from Roald Dahl’s George’s Marvellous Medicine. The students became mad scientists, designing their own versions of George’s ghastly concoction!
They used their 12 Key Words and Spicy connectives to describe the explosive effects of their potions. Please encourage your child to read the story at home every evening this week to see what happens next! You can find the story HERE.
They also enjoyed buddy reading with their peers in Year 2.

In STEAM, Year 6 have begun exploring coding through Unplugged Computing, learning the basics of computational thinking without using screens. Their challenge was to “code” the teacher to make a jam sandwich using only clear, step-by-step instructions, helping them shift from everyday language to precise commands a robot could follow. The activity sparked lots of laughter as they discovered how specific an algorithm needs to be!

We are proud to celebrate the outstanding achievements of Linh Phương and Hiệp Huyền Trang in this year’s Global Campus Writing Competition!
Linh Phương was crowned the Key Stage 3 winner, impressing judges with a powerful and creative story that stood out even against entries from much older students. Her talent and passion for writing truly shone through.
Hiệp Huyền Trang achieved an equally remarkable success, winning the Key Stage 4/5 category. Her writing was praised for its maturity, originality, and high quality, earning her top recognition across both senior year groups.
Both students will now represent our school in the global Nord Anglia competition, competing with winners from schools around the world.
Congratulations to Linh Phương and Hiệp Huyền Trang on these fantastic achievements! We are incredibly proud of you and look forward to seeing your continued success.

This week is BVIS' Book Week in celebration of World Book Day. Key Stage 3 students have been taking part in a range of sessions led by our head librarian Ms Ba. Year 7 recommended their favourite books to each other, whilst Year 8 students played 'hide and seek' books and Year 9 completed a hunt for the best opening line activity. There are a range of activities ongoing around school this week to encourage BVIS students to read regularly and widely!

This week, our Year 10 students took part in a highly meaningful educational trip to the Hỏa Lò Prison Relic Site. The visit offered them a profound opportunity to learn more about Vietnam’s history and the sacrifices made by previous generations. Throughout the trip, the students demonstrated the admirable qualities of BVIS Hanoi learners. They listened attentively, engaged seriously with the information shared, and expressed a sincere sense of pride in the nation’s heritage. It was truly a valuable experience that broadened their understanding and deepened their appreciation of the past.

A level Physics is a demanding and rigorous course. However, that doesn't mean it can't be fun! Our year 12 students have been learning about the acoustics of pipe instruments in a very practical way!

A big well done to Nhat Minh for confidently and clearly summarising the bubble sort lesson. He showed great initiative by stepping up to help teach the rest of the class, demonstrating strong understanding, leadership, and a willingness to support others in their learning.
