Our Year 1 learners became chefs and writers—following their own instructions to successfully make delicious pizzas. A perfect mix of creativity and clear communication!

This week, Year 2 students have been practicing incredibly hard and with great enthusiasm to prepare an amazing Assembly performance on the topic “Earth - Our home”.

Inspired by Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, our Year 3 students designed imaginative sweets with special powers, showcasing creativity and strong links to their learning.

Our Year 4 students explored Earth Day and created meaningful pledges to protect the planet—taking their learning beyond the classroom and into their homes.

Working collaboratively, Year 5 students created stop-motion animations—developing storytelling, teamwork, and growing confidence in spoken English.

Our Year 6 students researched Vietnam’s seas and islands, building a deeper understanding of geography, biodiversity, and national heritage.

As we break for the spring holiday, we would like to wish our Year 11 and Year 13 students every success as they begin their first examinations over the holiday period. We are incredibly proud of their hard work and dedication, and we know they will approach this important milestone with confidence and resilience.

On Thursday afternoon we had a wonderful ceremony to celebrate the academic achievements of our hardworking and committed students. Awards were presented for attainment and learning attitude in each subject. We also presented our new Academic Excellence and Exemplary LearningAttitude Awards for students who excelled across their subjects.

Last Saturday three teams of our senior students played their end of season HAC football tournaments, under trying conditions, at various schools around the city to represent the Dragons. The KS4 girls played a round robin style tournament with all the games being very close. A number of draws, a penalty shoot out and a spectacular headed finish from Vu Chuc An closed out a difficult but thoroughly rewarding learning experience on the field. The girls stuck to their task and were the very epitome of resilience and perseverance.

The KS5 boys competing at the very highest level of football that HAC has to offer fell short at the semi final stage after a hard fought win against Olympia in the first round. Wide pitches, hot and humid conditions and a very good RGSV team were a step too far for the boys on the day. We would like to take the opportunity to recognise and thank all of the year 13s that took to the pitch for their final time in a Dragons jersey - you will be missed next year!

The KS4 boys had an equally trying morning, but after a physical and hard fought game against a very well organsied RGSV team the boys managed to scrape through the semi final and into a rematch of last years final against Olympia. At this stage the heat was such that the game was modified with added water breaks and shorter halves. The final saw some excellent football played and to their credit the Dragons saw out a calm and composed 1-0 win, bringing home back to back JV football championships. Well done and congratulations to all involved.

This week saw the 3v3 Finals Day take place on Wednesday with both KS3 and KS4/5 Finals taking place. After 7 weeks of intense action each Wednesday and Friday lunchtime, it was time to crown this year's champions. With many people in attendance to watch, the atmosphere was electric and all players raised their game for the occasion. In both the KS3 and KS4/5 Finals, the games were extremely close and could have been won by either team, but ultimately there can only be one winner. Congratulations to all students who have participated in the 3v3 Basketball competition this term, it has been excellent to see a high level of sporting competition as well as our BVIS school values in action.
Our champion teams this year are:
KS3 Champions - Jollibee
KS4/5 Champions - Chapman
