Dear Families
A very warm welcome back for Term 3 and I trust you all had a wonderful Spring break.
As you know we pride ourselves on the English progress that our students make in the Primary school. I am delighted to announce that Mai Truc Nhi in Year two at our school has just been announced as the NAE global winner in 7 and under age category of the writing competition held annually. We also have Park MoA from Year 6 has won the Runner up award in 9-11 age category.
Competing against students across 90+ schools across the world, this is a remarkable achievement and we are very proud of Mai Truc Nhi and Park MoA, congratulations!
As well as some incredible academic outcomes, we are also very proud of the confidence we instill in the students at our school. Please view the following interview between a parent and student in our school:
We have come exciting plans in motion for further campus developments starting from the summer onwards. Please see a snapshot of what is to come:

Our Year 11 and Year 13 students have now started their formal examinations. We wish them the very best of luck. They have worked extremely hard and we know they will achieve well in their examinations. I am also pleased to say that our Year 13 students continue to receive some outstanding offers from some of the best colleges/universities across the world.

A reminder that we have summer school running again this year. We already have a lot of families signed up and I hope many more families will join this great event.

I wish you all a very relaxing weekend ahead.

In F3, children inspired a love of reading with a visit to a local bookstore, where they explored a wide range of books and built excitement around reading.

To launch their IPC topic “We Are What We Eat,” Year 1 students planted seeds and began learning where food comes from. Over the coming weeks, they will care for their plants, observe changes, and record growth—developing responsibility, curiosity, and understanding of healthy living.

In Year 2, children started the term by sharing holiday experiences through photos and discussion. They then turned these ideas into short recounts, strengthening their ability to organise ideas and write about real-life events.

In Year 3, pupils launched their new topic “Temples, Tombs and Treasures” with great enthusiasm. They explored life in Ancient Egypt, learning about different jobs and how society was structured.
They developed a clear understanding of the social pyramid and how roles and power shaped daily life, showing strong curiosity and thoughtful discussion.

In Year 4, pupils began their “Active Planet” unit by setting up a disaster relief centre. Working collaboratively, they recorded information, treated “injuries,” and created safe spaces for victims.
This hands-on experience developed teamwork, empathy, and problem-solving skills in a meaningful real-world context.

In Year 5, as part of their new IPC topic “The Human Body,” pupils explored the five senses, focusing on hearing.
In preparation for a visit from Nhan Chinh School for Deaf Children, they have been learning sign language—building empathy, communication skills, and a strong sense of inclusion.

In Year 6, pupils launched their “Fairgrounds” unit by learning and performing magic tricks.
This engaging entry point boosted confidence, encouraged problem-solving, and strengthened communication skills as pupils explained and demonstrated their tricks to others.

I hope you all had a restful and positive Spring Beak. Returning to school for our final terms on 2025/26 has begun with exam season!
Our Year 11 and 13 students are now undertaking their IGCSE and A Level exams. These mark the culmination of 2 years of hard work and we wish our students the very best of luck in these important assessments.
Our Year 10 and 12 students have begun their 2 week programme of Mock Exams. These will give an important indication of progress for our students and allow them to identify both areas of strength and areas for development.

Effective revision is key to success at all levels from KS3 to A level. Here are some top tips to help students prepare confidently:
Remember, consistent effort and a positive attitude make a big difference. Good luck - you've got this!

It is really important that all year 11 and 13 students have continued attendance at school over the exam season. Attending school during the exam period, to support study, has many significant benefits for students;
We know from years of experience, that students who seek support with their revision from school staff, perform well in their exams. I would like to ask all students to continue to attend school throughout their exams and take up the offer of the excellent support which is offered by the BVIS team.
