Dear Families
As we reach the end of another busy and fantastic year, I would like to thank you all for your incredible support during the year. We have achieved so much together and I look forward to working with you all next year.
Last week I had the pleasure of attending the Year 13 graduation ceremony and we wish all of our students the very best of luck with their final A level results and their future university destinations.

Yesterday I attended the Year 6 graduation ceremony here in school. A wonderful occasion and a terrific way to end their primary journey here at BVIS.
We have a busy summer ahead with lots of work planned and we are looking forward to you all seeing the improvements when you return in August.

I will finish by sharing with you the Term 3 highlights video that we shared in assembly today:
I wish you all a very safe and happy summer vacation ahead.

EYFS children have been developing their imagination, creativity and communication skills by creating and sharing their own stories, growing in confidence as speakers and storytellers.

Year 1 celebrated the end of the year with their We Are What We Eat assembly, confidently using songs, drama and dance to promote healthy lifestyles while showcasing their teamwork and growing confidence.

Year 2 proudly shared their learning through songs, a class pirate film and a Vietnamese presentation. Families joined in exciting hands-on activities, celebrating the children's growing knowledge, creativity and problem-solving skills.

Year 3 became Egyptologists for the day, confidently sharing their learning through exciting hands-on activities with their families and demonstrating the depth of their knowledge of Ancient Egypt.

Year 4 impressed families with their understanding of volcanoes, earthquakes and tsunamis through songs, presentations and erupting volcano models, bringing their learning vividly to life.

Year 5 took full ownership of planning and hosting their own Year Group Party, demonstrating outstanding leadership, teamwork and maturity while celebrating a year of excellent progress, including their final explanation texts.

Year 6 proudly presented their final projects to parents, showcasing the knowledge, skills and confidence they have developed throughout Primary as they prepare for an exciting transition to Secondary.

On Friday 12th June, we proudly said farewell to the amazing Class of 2026. The graduation ceremony was a truly special occasion and a fitting celebration of an outstanding year group, recognising their achievements, memories, and contributions to our school community. We wish all of our graduating students every success and happiness as they begin the next exciting chapter of their journeys.

On Tuesday afternoon, we celebrated the achievements of our students at our Term 3 Academic Awards Ceremony. Students were recognised for their attainment and positive learning attitudes across each subject area, with additional awards presented for Overall Academic Excellence and Exemplary Learning Attitude to students who have demonstrated outstanding commitment and achievement across all of their subjects.

It was a wonderful afternoon celebrating the hard work, dedication, and success of our students, and we are incredibly proud of their achievements.
The Art & Media Department was delighted to hold its annual Exhibition, featuring work from students across Years 7–13. The display highlighted the breadth of talent and celebrated the effort, perseverance, and creativity that students have demonstrated throughout the year. Congratulations to all students involved for their contributions and achievements.

Congratulations to Ha Anh Dong 8I, winner of this year’s KS3 Planner Competition. Her outstanding design impressed the judges with its creativity and originality. Ha Anh’s artwork will be featured on the cover of the 2026-27 Planner.

A big thank you to all students who participated in the competition. We were delighted by the high standard of entries.
On Monday our year 12 Economics students took part in a workshop delivered by HULT Business School - The workshop taught the students about the skill of negotiation in the business world. The students were thoroughly engaged, and the workshop added a lot of value.

To celebrate the end of the academic year, all KS3 students took part in an exciting and highly creative STEAM Challenge inspired by the work of MIT researcher Professor Skylar Tibbits, whose research focuses on adaptive and self-assembling structures for extreme environments. You can see the challenge video below:
The challenge asked students to consider a fascinating question: How can humans survive and thrive on Mars?
Working in teams, they started by researching the environment on Mars, investigating topics such as the planet's atmosphere, gravity, weather conditions, surface features and the challenges future explorers may face. They then used this knowledge to design innovative shelters and structures capable of adapting to the harsh conditions found on Mars.

A particular highlight of the project was the interdisciplinary project lessons in Art. During their Art lessons, students designed and created impressive Mars-scape display boards featuring textured landscapes, craters, rocky terrain and dramatic skies. These artistic creations formed the backdrop for their final STEAM projects and demonstrated how creativity and scientific thinking can work together to solve complex problems.

During the challenge, students built physical models of their adaptive shelters and created digital versions using 3D modelling software. Some groups extended their projects further by producing videos to demonstrate how their structures would function in Mars while other teams explored transportation challenges, using robotics kits to build and programme Mars exploration vehicles capable of navigating the planet's rugged terrain.

The completed projects showcased outstanding creativity, teamwork, problem-solving and communication skills. During the final gallery walk, students visited classrooms across the year groups to view one another's work, celebrate successes and gain inspiration from the wide range of innovative ideas on display.

The Mars Challenge was a fantastic way to conclude the school year, giving students the opportunity to apply their learning through a hands-on, interdisciplinary STEAM experience. The project highlighted the importance of collaboration while encouraging students to think like the scientists, engineers, designers and problem-solvers of the future.
Our Y7 students have been thinking scientifically and carried out an investigation about Gravitational Potential Energy transfer.

The students have been studying traditional craft villages and have designed fantastic desk calendars based on this theme.
